Every spring, Eisenhower brings 25 Fellows from selected countries around the world to the United States; another group of 20 Fellows from one country or region arrives each fall. Fellows of both programs spend two months following individualized agendas that take them to an average of 10–12 cities for 60–80 meetings with NGO leaders, CEOs, entrepreneurs, journalists, opinion makers, and government officials.
The USA Program, which draws Fellows from Philadelphia, the Research Triangle in North Carolina, New England, and one agricultural Fellow, sends 10 to 15 Americans abroad annually for four to eight-week programs of similar professional enrichment.
These travels expose Fellows to different ideas and innovations in their fields of interest. Representing a rich cross-section of politics and professions, Fellows also encounter a wide range of international perspectives. They end their trips connected to a network of leaders throughout the world.
