Getting to Ouro Preto

What is the best way to get to Ouro Preto?
Please note that you cannot fly directly to Ouro Preto. You must fly in to either Rio or Sao Paulo, and then take a connecting flight to Belo Horizonte’s Confins International Airport (CNF). From Belo, you must take ground transportation to Ouro Preto.

Transport from and to CNF will be provided by the conference upon request. If you do not use the transportation provided by the conference, you have two other options: You can take a taxi from the CNF airport to Ouro Preto (about 350,00 R$). You can also take a bus from the CNF airport to the Belo Horizonte's Central Bus Station ("Rodoviária de Belo Horizonte"), and from the bus station you take another bus to Ouro Preto. The buses leave about once an hour. However, be aware that it will be difficult to find an English speaker for information outside the airport.
