EISENHOWER FELLOWSHIPS ANNOUNCES RECRUITMENT FOR 2009 USA FELLOWS
For Agriculture Fellowship:
Eisenhower Fellowships will select one farmer to travel abroad to meet with small and commercial farmers, farm organizations, companies, national government representatives, and university researchers as an Agriculture Fellow. Although candidates with broad interests are encouraged to apply, we seek to identify and will give preference to agriculture candidates whose fields of interests correspond with our current international program priorities. In 2009, Eisenhower Fellowships will conduct a Common Interest program entitled Fueling Growth which will focus on energy, the environment, and economic growth.
Deadline for completed applications is June 2, 2008.

For St. Louis , Philadelphia , and New England area applicants:
Eisenhower Fellowships seeks to identify and will give preference to candidates in each region whose fields of interests correspond with current Eisenhower international program priorities. The 2009 Common Interest program entitled, Fueling Growth will focus on energy, the environment, and economic growth. Fueling Growth will offer a unique opportunity for emerging world leaders to examine the issues, devise solutions, and undertake follow-on projects as part of the EF network.
-Development and commercialization of efficient energy technologies, including renewable energy technologies and nontraditional fuel sources;
-Public policies and private sector strategies to finance energy production and provide effective distribution infrastructures;
-Impact of energy regulation and deregulation at the local, regional, national and international levels;
-Regional and international cooperation on energy and environmental issues;
-Environmental considerations in energy production, distribution and consumption.
